These storyboards, created for a short film pitch, capture Act One and Act Three of Alien Cafe. The narrative follows a deaf main character navigating ableism before finding unexpected understanding in an alien cafe. Along with the storyboards, I contributed to the concept art and character design, blending narrative, graphics, and design into visual storytelling.
For this short film, I created storyboard variations for a scene where the protagonist struggles with a malfunctioning toilet on an alien ship. Each version explored different comedic beats, using character-driven animation storytelling to inform how the final sequence could play out.
One of my first attempts at 2D animation and storyboard gifs, this short sequence follows a penguin eating fruit. While minimalistic and cartoonish, it was a milestone in building my animation skills, learning how to tell a cohesive story with characters and timing.
